The ICT Learning Journey In July 2003 St John's received the NAACE Mark. This award recognises the school's success in developing and implementing a strategic approach to ICT. It provides a framework for using ICT to enhance teaching and learning and provides opportunities for the school community to develop ICT capability. Working towards and gaining the Naacemark enables schools to move forward with the knowledge that they are implementing recognised good practice.' In November 2004 St John’s became one of only three schools in Yorkshire / Humber to be given ICT Register Specialist status. This register is open Nationally and Internationally for in order that other schools can contact the school for advice and support. In January 2006 St John's was awarded the National ICT Mark. This replaces the NAACE Mark and is awarded by BECTA (British Educational Communications and Technology Agency). The school had to complete an Impact Self Review indicating the impact ICT has had on teaching and learning. The focus on continual improvement through ICT has an impact on improving the quality of provision for all pupils in the school. St John's is one of the first schools to hold this new mark.
