The school offers a range of opportunities for enhancing pupil development both within and outside the school curriculum. "The curriculum is dynamic and exciting; it is enriched and enhanced by a very wide range of additional activities, both within school and through out-of-school clubs." (Ofsted 2008) 'Befrienders' Children from Classes O and N receive training from Childline in order that they can support others in the playground when they are upset or have a problem. " A Strong befriender system encourages older pupils to look after the younger ones. Consequently, pupils feel safe and free from harassment." (Ofsted 2008) Educational and Residential Visits All children have the opportunity to enhance their learning through educational day trips or residential visits in Years 5 and 6. Class O explore Hebden Bridge and Heptonstall, further developing the knowledge of the area they gain through reaearch in class.They also visit Todmorden Sports Centre, Halifax Piece Hall for a craft workshop and Shibden Hall for local history. Class N travel to LLandudno. Here they visit local places of interest and also have the opportunity at dry skiing. Other Educational trips include visits to Ponderosa in Heckmondwike, Cannon Hall Farm, Colne Valley Museum. Yorvik centre and Eden Camp.
