St John's provides the children with a healthy, warm meal. The catering staff work extremely hard to provide the children with a healthy diet. Below are some of the meals the children can choose from; The older children help the younger ones with their dinner. The catering staff encourage the children to make a healthy choice. The school holds the Healthy Schools Award and all children are encouraged to stay for school lunch as part of their social growth and development.
Children whose parent are in receipt of certain ‘support’ payments are eligible to receive free school lunches. The relevant support payments are: Income support (IS) Income based Jobseekers Allowance (IBJSA) Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 Child Tax Credit, but who parents who are not entitled to a Working Tax Credit and whose annual income (as assessed by The Inland Revenue) does not exceed £13,230.
